A chance to "reaffirm the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel"...

On the heels of his speech on Sunday to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference, President Obama will welcome Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House today. The President and Prime Minister will have a bilateral meeting at 10:45 AM in the Oval Office, followed by an "expanded lunch meeting" at noon in the State Dining Room. Both are closed press, though there will be a photo op at the start of the morning meeting. (Above: The President and Netanyahu at a working lunch at the White House in 2009)
The President "has probably met with Prime Minister Netanyahu more than any other leader," Press Secretary Jay Carney said. "It is a candid relationship. They meet and speak regularly."
Today's meeting with Netanyahu "will be an opportunity for the President to reaffirm the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel, and to discuss a range of strategic issues of mutual concern," the White House said. President Obama met privately with Israel's President Shimon Peres on Sunday, on the sidelines of the AIPAC conference.
Asked if Iran will be the topic of the meeting with Netanyahu, Carney said yes, but added that other topics will be discussed, too. The President devoted much of his AIPAC speech to Iran.
"Iranian behavior is a front-and-center issue right now for this President in terms of national security policy, and certainly in his discussions with the Israeli Prime Minister," Carney said. "But it is not the only topic that they will discuss, and it’s certainly not the only topic of importance between our two countries."
Conference, speaking to an audience of about 13,000 at the Washington Convention Center.
