First Lady Michelle Obama will welcome more than thirty children from around the US to the White House today to re-plant the Kitchen Garden for Spring. Today marks the fourth time Mrs. Obama has planted her Kitchen Garden, the first vegetable garden dug into the grounds since the Roosevelt era.
A container vegetable garden was kept on the roof of the White House during the Clinton and Bush Administrations, for use by the chefs. Mrs. Obama's forthcoming book, American Grown, will give instructions for home container gardens as well as for other gardens.
