And attend two 2012 fundraisers in Boston, MA...
On Friday, March 9, First Lady Michelle Obama will again be piggybacking an event for her Let's Move! campaign with fundraising for President Obama's re-elect effort. Mrs. Obama will tout healthy eating and fitness in Concord, NH before traveling to Boston, MA for two Democratic National Committee fundraisers, including a dinner with tickets priced at $25,000. In the afternoon, Mrs. Obama will visit Penacook Community Center in Concord to "highlight an example of a collaborative community effort to promote health and wellness, good nutrition and physical activity," the White House said. Mrs. Obama will be joined by New Hampshire First Lady Dr. Susan Lynch for the 2:45 PM event.
Pennacook is a neighborhood non-profit organization that "offers community programs to foster healthy eating and active living for all ages," the White House said. It "has a child care center that helps kids exercise before and after school, teaches them about eating healthy through the use of a garden, and even participated in helping Mrs. Obama and National Geographic Kids break the Guinness World Record for most people doing jumping jacks in a 24 hour period this past October."
The fundraisers...
In Boston, Mrs. Obama will deliver remarks at two fundraisers at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston at 100 Northern Avenue, sponsored by New England Women for Change. Tickets for the 4:00 PM reception begin at $500 and go up to $5,000; for the 5:30 PM dinner, tickets begin at $5,000 and go up to $25,000 for Host Committee, which includes a photo op with the First Lady. Proceeds benefit Obama Victory Fund 2012.
Mrs. Obama is picking up her 2012 fund-raising pace: She visited Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C. last Friday, which also included a Let's Move! event. On Monday, she visited St. Louis and Kansas City for two fundraisers. At the end of February she was in Cincinnati, OH and Louisville, KY for fundraisers.
