Deck the halls of power with trashbags? Yes...
A very large statue of First Dog Bo, made of black and white trash bags, sits in front of the fireplace in the Library of the White House, located on the ground floor.
The real Bo is often spotted by reporters at the White House, and guests who attended the Presidential holiday parties were treated to a statuary depiction of Bo in almost every public room this year, which includes a 4-1/2 foot tall felt Bo statue in the East Garden Room, a black licorice and marshmallow Bo in the Green Room, and a tiny ceramic Bo that sits beside wineglasses in the China Room, as part of a Christmas table setting.
The real First Dog brings cheer wherever he goes: He joined Mrs. Obama on Monday for a holiday visit to the Children's National Medical Center. (Above: A long view of the library)
White House florist Laura Dowling and her team, as well as the more than 100 volunteers who decorated the White House, created the Bo statues.
