President Obama went from discussing "breathtaking greed" to visiting a joint that serves breathtaking barbecue on Tuesday afternoon in Kansas. After an important speech on the economy at Osawatomie High School, Mr. Obama dropped by "We B Smokin,'" located at the Miami County Airport between the towns of Osawatomie and Paola. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who left her second term as Governor of Kansas to join the Administration, accompanied the President during his ten-minute eat n' greet with excited locals. There were plenty of smiles as President Obama, clad in a black overcoat with a scarf around his neck, shook hands and posed for photos. He stood for pictures with the employees of the barbecue joint, and promised to write them a letter recommending their food, according to pool. We Be Smokin' specializes in apple wood smoked barbecue, and has the slogan "where sticky fingers are a good thing!"
White House Trip Director Marvin Nicholson purchased some barbecue for the journey back to Washington. The President and his entourage departed on Marine One following the barbecue pit stop.
