First Lady Selects Student Art Contest Winners For 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll

Poster and program artists are from Mississippi and the District of Columbia...
President Obama and First Lady Obama are gearing up to host the largest event on their social calendar, the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, on Monday, April 9th. This year's South Lawn event, with the theme “Let's Go! Let's Play! Let's Move!" highlights Mrs. Obama's childhood obesity campaign.  The First Lady  chose the above student art work as the Official Poster for the Roll; it was selected from contest entries submitted by students from more than 20 states, the White House said. 9-year-old Reed Preston Lindsey from Anderson Elementary School in Boonesville, Mississippi is the artist. The posters will be handed out as a prize to children who win the Easter Egg Roll or the Egg Hunt.

Mrs. Obama selected the art at left to appear on the cover of the program for the Roll. Breonna Bailey, a 7th grader from Macfarland Middle School in Washington, DC created the winning entry. About 35,000 people from all 50 states are expected to attend the First Family's fourth Easter Egg Roll, continuing a White House tradition that started in 1874.
