"The Story Of Us: Five Years Ago Today"

First Lady Michelle Obama today kicks off one of her longest solo tours since President Obama took office, beginning this morning with an election-style stadium event in Des Moines, Iowa to celebrate the second anniversary of the Let's Move! campaign. It's an anniversary for her husband, too: Five years ago on Feb. 10, 2007, Senator Obama announced his candidacy for the nation's top office. Obama for America today released this video marking the date. Mr. Obama's big win in the Iowa Caucuses is considered the defining moment that shifted his campaign from an unlikely hope to plausible victory, so it hardly seems a coincidence that the White House chose Iowa as the location for the largest event of Mrs. Obama't tour--more than 10,000 people will join her at Wells Fargo Stadium. Four of Mrs. Obama's eight tour events are located in Florida, a battleground state for the 2012 election.

The video's title, "The Story of Us," was the title of a 1999 feature film starring Bruce Willis and Michele Pfeiffer, which covered 15 tough years in a couple's marriage. It was also the title of a song by country pop star Taylor Swift.
