President Obama and First Lady Obama will host the largest event of the year, the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, on Monday, April 9th. With the theme “Let's Go! Let's Play! Let's Move!," the South Lawn eggstrvaganza spotlights Mrs. Obama's childhood obesity campaign. The White House has created a fun, downloadable activity booklet for kids that includes coloring pages and a word search puzzle with the words "Lets Move," "White House," "Roll," "Egg," etc. (Above: One of the pages kids can color)

Video: 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll Ticket Lottery Is Open Through March 5th

This year's theme is “Let's Go! Let's Play! Let's Move!"...
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will welcome more than 35,000 guests for the the 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll on April 9, about 5,000 more people than last year, according to the White House. The theme, announced today, is “Let's Go! Let's Play! Let's Move!" It will be the largest Egg Roll since the tradition started in 1878. The most famous Obama, First Dog Bo, wearing pink bunny ears, stars in a new video released today, announcing that the online ticket lottery opens at 10:00 AM ET. Bo joined the First Family in greeting guests at last year's event, minus the bunny ears.

The Egg Roll activities "will help educate families on smart ways to incorporate healthy eating and exercise choices into their daily routines, which are key pillars of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative," the White House said. There will be cooking demonstrations, costumed characters, sports courts, and musical performances as well as arts n' crafts stations and games.

2012 White House Easter Egg Roll Souvenirs

Special commemorative wooden egg set features a Bo egg with pawprint...
A cartoon image of a bunny is imprinted on the souvenir wooden eggs that will be gifted to the thousands of kids who will attend President Obama and First Lady Obama's 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll on April 9th. But for the first time since the Obamas have lived at 1600 Penn, there's also a special egg with First Dog Bo. 2012's theme, announced today, is “Let's Go! Let's Play! Let's Move!" In addition to being included in the kids' goody bags at the Roll, the souvenir wooden eggs are sold by the National Park Service as a collectible. They come in four bold colors – purple, blue, green, orange – and include the stamped signatures of the President and First Lady ($7.50/each).
