Behind The Scenes At The White House

Social Secretary Jeremy Bernard "can't carry a tune," dishes a recent Presidential guest...
Jeremy Bernard, the first male and first openly gay Social Secretary in White House history, "continues to make us proud," writes LGBT activist and political consultant David Mixner on his blog Mixner rubbed elbows with Bernard, President Obama and First Lady Obama when he attended the recent "Red, White and Blues" filming of PBS' In Performance at the White House. Mixner snapped the photo, above, of Bernard with Mick Jagger, one of the headliners.

"By the way, Bernard can't carry a tune so don't expect any duets with the President in the near future," Mixner wrote.

Bernard just marked his one-year anniversary as Social Secretary.

The President performed Sweet Home Chicago with Jagger, Booker T. Jones, and B.B. King. Also performing were Trombone Shorty, Jeff Beck, Shemkia Copeland, Susan Tedeschi, Gary Clark Jr, Keb' Mo', Derek Trucks, and Warren Haynes.
