Jan. 26: Michelle Obama Will Travel To Florida For Nutrition Event And 2012 Campaigning

First Lady will join Goya Foods for announcement about National Strategic Partnership for USDA's MiPlato initiative, then attend two high-dollar DNC receptions....
First Lady Michelle Obama will make three stops in the 2012 election battleground state of Florida next week, on Thursday, Jan. 26, to campaign for her husband's re-election effort, and to promote her health and nutrition campaign. President Obama visited Florida yesterday, making a quick stop at Disney World to promotes US tourism, before traveling to New York City for four different fundraisers.  Republican candidates will be in Florida next week: The GOP primary there is Jan. 31. US Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) is chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Mrs. Obama's day in Florida begins with her Let's Move! event, which will take place at the National Supermarket in Tampa. She will be announcing a new commitment from Goya Foods for USDA's MiPlato campaign, the Spanish-language edition of the MyPlate campaign. Goya is the largest Hispanic-owned U.S. food company, and president Bob Unanue will join Mrs. Obama, as will "leading Latino organizations." Goya is committing to become a National Strategic Partner for USDA's MiPlato campaign. The event is at 11:30 AM.

The First Lady will then travel to two different high-dollar Democratic National Committee receptions, in Sarasota and Palm Beach.

In Sarasota, Mrs. Obama will attend a reception at the Bay Shore Road home of Caren Lobo, Vice President and founder of Lobo Media Group, Inc, and owner of Sarasota News & Books.  Lobo helped raise more than $1 million for the President's 2008 campaign, and is active with arts organizations and Planned Parenthood.  Mrs. Obama will deliver remarks at 1:15 PM.  Tickets start at $1,250 per person, and are $15,000 for Host Committee designation.

In Palm Beach, Mrs. Obama will attend a DNC reception at the winter estate home of Michele and Howard Kessler, who is chief of the Boston-based Kessler Financial Services/Kessler Group.  Mrs. Obama will deliver remarks at 4:00 PM.
